International New York Times to cease political cartoons after anti-Semitism row

A caricature of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump published in The New York Times international edition on April 25, 2019, which the paper later acknowledged ‘included anti-Semitic tropes.-

Local newspapers that continue to have a hyper-local focus are still going strong in many communities.

There is nowhere, not even the Internet, where you can find high school sports, births, deaths, honor rolls

Newspapers remain the primary source of news-gathering. And unlike so many Internet “sites,” they are firmly grounded in a geographical place. To read a newspaper is to know what town you’re in.
